It has often been said about West Cork Distillers that we are a distillery built and run by the people, for the people. Based in Skibbereen, the company was founded in 2003 by childhood friends, John O’Connell, Denis McCarthy and Ger McCarthy and has since grown to a team of over 100 people.
Eight pot stills and two column stills produce almost 4 million litres of alcohol (LPA) annually. A further three stills are dedicated to gin.
Five bottling lines operate 24 hours per day, six days per week. Every hour, there are 2,000 bottles processed on site.
Seven warehouses, which are all located on site at the distillery in Skibbereen, store up to 55,000 casks as needed.
West Cork is known for its hospitality so we look to strike the right balance between the investment and social aspect of owning your own cask. In its short life, the Cask Club has already brought together a diverse group of people from all corners of the globe who stand to benefit from the continued growth of Irish Whiskey.
